Smart-X is a lightweight alternative to foamex. It is made from HIPS, a solid polystyrene, and has a core made from expanded polystyrene which makes it suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

| Description | Smart-X is a popular alternative to foamex because it lightweight but still very sturdy. Another reason it is popular as a display material is that it is 100% recyclable and is manufactured using hydroelectric power. Smart-X can be printed direct to board, or mounted - depending on the finish required - and can be cut to size / shape for different types of installations. |
| How is it printed? | Mounted boards are printed on self adhesive vinyl using one of our HP Latex 800s, laminated and then mounted to the sheet using our bobis flatbed applicator, whereas Print Direct boards are printed straight onto the sheet using one of our HP Latex R2000s. Once the board has been printed, we use one of our Zund CNC digital cutters to cut them to size or shape. The cut boards are then passed over to our finishing department who will add any tape or velcro if required, so they are ready for despatch. |
