Description

265gsm Black Back Fabric - also known as blockout fabric - is a very popular material for exhibition builders because it has enough stretch (6-12%) to wrap around MDF and create large, seamless displays With the option of dye sublimation and latex printing up to 3.15m wide, blockout black back fabric can be used to produce massive displays in full colour. As well as MDF backdrops it can also be used in tension frames that need a blockout fabric or high quality backdrops with pockets and eyelets.

How is it printed?

All of our fabrics are printed on our HP Stitch S1000 or on our Agfa Avinci CX3200. Once they are printed they are calendered with our Klieverik heat press and then we use our Zund CNC digital cutter to cut them to size/shape - allowing extra material for hems and pockets. The fabrics are then passed over to our sewing department who will then stitch them to match your brief before they are despatched.

Finishing Options

Finishing Options
Hem

Our most popular option for the edge of fabrics is a single hem. This is where the edge of the fabric is folded over 20mm and stitched shut.

Strengthened Edge

To make the hem more durable we offer a strengthened edge with two options:

Strengthened Edge - Tape Inside Hem - All Edges - the white strengthening tape is hidden inside the hem

Strengthened Edge - Tape On Top of Hem - All Edges - the white strengthening tape is visible on the edges of the fabric

Trim Edges If you would like to have your fabric cut to a custom shape then use the 'Trim to Size' option and then select either simple shape (for squares, triangles or rectangles) or complicated shape for any other style. Please note artwork must be supplied with a cutter guide as a spot colour on a separate layer to achieve different shapes.
Silicone Edging

Silicone edging can be sewn onto the back of specific fabrics so they can slot into a silicone edged frame. To ensure a good fit we recommend that you enter the size of the outside edges of the frame. Left to right and top to bottom.

When installing graphics we recommend the below:

  • Start with fitting the graphic into each corner of the frame
  • Then push the silicone in from the middle and go outwards to the corners - this will avoid stretching the material
  • If the fabric appears too small then spray lightly with water and leave for 5 minutes then try again - this will allow you to stretch it further to fit the frame
Drill Holes Choose 'Trim to Size' and then either 4mm in each corner, 6mm in each corner or custom.
Eyelets Choose either 'Hem All Edges' or a Strengthened Edge option for eyelets. The most common spacing for eyelets is every 500mm, but any spacing can be achieved if you choose 'Custom' as the option.
Pockets All of our pockets are setup as included in the finished size.
Double Sided All double sided fabric prints are made from 2 x pieces which are stitched together with a tyvek liner.
