There are a lot of different materials that can be used for posters such as paper, PVC, magnet and canvas. The application will have a bearing on the most appropriate material so it is important to know where the posters are being used. This will also inform whether they need to be supplied with tape, magnet, drill holes or any other specific finishing requirements.

160gsm matt / 200gsm satin: These papers are suitable for short term internal usage and with either internal snapframes, or frames with a protective sheet. Lamination is available for 200gsm satin; it adds extra durability to a print and comes in either a matt or gloss finish.

180micron Matt Polyprop: Matt polypropylene is suitable for short-term indoor and outdoor usage. It has a tear-resistance which makes it stand out against traditional paper posters.

400 micron Crystal Pop Up – this material is used for exhibition units, but it can also be used for shell-schemes because it is semi-rigid and sits well on frames.

420gsm Smooth Stoplight PVC – used with more premium pull up banners, this material can be used for posters, shell schemes and temporary outdoor displays.

285gsm Backlit Film (Duratrans) – this material is only suitable for lightboxes. Before they are lit up the colours in a backlit print are dull and washed out, but as soon as the lights are turned on the print is transformed into a brightly coloured graphic.

Canvas – canvas is only supplied trimmed to size, but if it is needed for mounting onto a frame we recommend speaking to a framer first to confirm the extra bleed needed. When ordering, ensure the size includes the extra bleed required for framing.
